These alpine boots are lightweight and suitable for three seasons, and are designed for long-distance mountain climbing and can be fitted with semi-one-touch crampons.
The upper is made of high-strength ripstop fabric that can withstand wear on rocky ridges and trails. The waterproof membrane is made of THE NORTH FACE's proprietary nano-film waterproof and breathable material "FUTURELIGHT," which is made by spraying nano-level polyurethane fibers in micro units into a sheet.
The shoe holes, which affect the fit, are held in place by a webbing tape, and the ankle area is constructed with a locking eyelet to reduce loosening of the fit during long walks. The sole is made of Vibram's LITEBASE MONT compound rubber, which is both lightweight and durable to wear. Although the sole material is thin and lightweight, it has abrasion resistance comparable to that of heavy mountain climbing boots.
The footbed is also equipped with a fiberglass shank plate, which provides both lightweight rigidity and increased stability when walking.
The opening is made of stretchy Lycra material, which provides a snug fit and reduces the intrusion of gravel and other particles.
