The North Face's standard waterproof shell, made with GORE-TEX PRODUCTS 3-layer material, has been renewed with eco-friendly materials. The outer material is recycled nylon, and the lining is a microgrid backer that is less likely to snag and less likely to absorb moisture, pursuing a balance of breathability, lightness, and strength.
Its functionality as an alpine shell has also been improved, with increased coverage when wearing a helmet and a length that keeps the hem from riding up even when carrying a pack and hip harness. It comes with a stuff sack for easy carrying. With a silhouette that reduces flapping in the wind and mobility that allows you to easily raise your arms even with a pack on, this is a piece that will come in handy in a wide range of mountain climbing situations.
